A four-woman cast spanning age groups from young women in their 20’s to mature women in their 50’s and 60’s. Each woman is an individual storyteller and vocalist. Every story carries a song.
Based on the book, “Friends are Forevah” by GRITS creator and author, Deborah Ford, this show will have you laughing and crying and it will transport you back in time.
Reminisce about sittin’ on the front porch, travelin’ with your best friends, celebrating with down home meals and the “Dos and Don’ts of being a proper Southern gal.

The Cast~
VIRGINIA
She's a 50-60-ish mature woman who has seen and done it all! Her stories span 5 decades of life. Just like a sassy mama, Virginia can tell you a thing or two.
Some of her stories include how to give a girlfriend her "last meal", what inheriting her son's Shitzu is like" and how retirement "Ain't All Thorns". She can cook, sew and offer advice on ANY subject!
FLORENCE
"Flo"-Girl…watch out! This lady takes no "Bull-Hockey"! She will tell you what she thinks in a hot second!
She knows what she wants and keeps it real. Her stories include Red Lipstick 101, family history about a cousin gone bad, and just how hard it is to be a Mom lost on the back roads of Alabama. Listen…y'all can relate!
GEORGIA
A fine society gal. Georgia is the head of the PTA, the Junior League and was the head of her sorority in college.
Come on…y'all know one of these! Her tales include why you should always listen to your Mama, a dissertation on the MANY different types of "belles" there are to ring and why she hopes Dolly Parton will live forever!
CHARLOTTE
The youngest of the four, this one is a sweetie. Still catching on and still having fun, Georgia is fresh out of school and has a plan…to party!
She'll have you reeling with recollections of a bridesmaid gone wild incident, road trips with her girlfriends and one really bad piano recital! We're not worried about her though…she could charm her way out of numerous speeding tickets…and has!
Meet the Creator~
Erica Allen McGee (Writer, Director and Producer)
A Tennessee native, Erica's professional stage experience began at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge TN and singing with the female trio Savannah in Nashville, TN.
Erica has performed throughout the Southeast as Patsy Cline and toured productions of her original shows “Girls Raised in the South-GRITS: The Musical” and “Cinnamon GRITS: Christmas in the South” featuring her scripts and scores which are now being published and licensed throughout the US by Concord Theatricals. She has also written/produced many children’s musicals, through her NC children’s theater company, Playground Players.
Erica is also a professional film, TV and voice over actress with appearances in feature and independent films, scripted TV, online music videos and numerous commercial spots. Erica is also the Dramatist Guild Representative for North & South Carolina.
She has her MFA from Mount Saint Mary’s Univ. in LA and is currently a voice teacher for Arts + is Charlotte, NC.
